Many businesses are doing it tough particularly when it comes to finding staff, but the primary sector at $20 billion is so important for the NZ economy that it needs help. Dairy NZ CEO Dr Tim Mackle says the input from trained migrant workers who know our farming systems cannot be over estimated and rather than losing good people to Australia and Canada they need to be able to stay here apply for residency and have it processed or all that knowledge and skill will be lost: Dr Tim Mackle  says the sector has been lobbying to try and get changes made. He did have some praise for MPI.
