Federated Farmers is praising the government for a proper consultation process on replacing the RMA legislation but is concerned local democracy may be stripped away in the process. Karen WIlliams says, the Feds are deeply concerned about local decisions being put in the hands of unelected regional planning committees, with only one local person representing each local authority.
