Over a dozen households were cut off overnight in a rural Manawatū valley after massive floods washed away a road. Te Reureu is 26 kilometres northwest of Feilding, was cut off from the rest of the district at around 6 last night. Manawatū has been pounded for the second evening in three days by heavy rain that has closed roads and flooded properties. Manawatu Fire and Emergency crews went to 87 weather related callouts in 24 hours. Manawatū District Council spokesman Ben Caldwell said the valley residents are all safe and accounted for. He says 15 properties were cut off.
