It’s all on at Country TV. As we launch the new website, still available at countrytv.co.nz, where it has a whole new look and feel. It is bigger, brighter and oh so much better! We have ensured that the site is device capable, up to date with programmes and really captures the visual communication tool that is television.

There are competitions from books, updates about new shows, promos in video form of as many shows as we can. It is just so exciting to be moving into the future, which brings me to the next update, Live Events – this week we are streaming Thursday to Sunday at Horse of the Year. Very exciting for us working alongside our streaming partners JX Live – so all you need to do is go to countrytv.live and it is free to watch. We are mainly streaming the premier show jumping arena and crossing over to the dressage arena when there is availability and time.

We are putting a plan together for the future of streaming for equestrian in New Zealand, so it should be a great move for riders, shows/events and of course the disciplines of equestrian sport.

What else is on the horizon….In the rural sector, Campbell Tyson have started filming for their second series of Thinking Forward, due on air June 1st as they look at how and why businesses are successful from thinking forward. The team at Campbell Tyson are fantastic check them out at www.campbelltyson.co.nz. Then we follow this show with Hansen Products TV show, the theme of the show is not yet confirmed, they have done Dairy, Living Land and last year Water, NZ’s life stream. All fantastic shows full of informative and entertaining farms, people and subject matter. Will be fun to find out what it is we are filming this year. Dog Trials are on the go, Country TV will be at the NZ North Island, South Island and National Dog Trial championships filming it for a 20 episode series – yup that is alota dog trials for all you fans out there – get in behind!
For Equestrian events we have the Glistening Waters Series Finals live stream and on the same weekend Kihikihi three day for broadcast on the channel, such a wonderful event run by a great bunch of volunteers and officials full of the best event riders both locally and internationally. Followed on by Matamata pony club champs at the end of April…. and fingers crossed Taupo 3 Day… so we are full on with equestrian events live and broadcast.

So I guess the exciting news we are just in the throws of testing an on-line platform for the channel, it is looking fantastic and this is the way of the future being able to watch your content on the internet at your time you are free to watch. We will keep you updated!

We are loving our partners at the moment Wireless Nation, who does so much for us at events and behind the scenes. Thin Lizzy, who provides all our make up and keeps the team looking pretty. JX Live who provide all our streaming requirements. We are so grateful for your help (I am very grateful lol).

Next blog I am thinking I might explain what it is like filming events live streaming, the production team here and how it all works behind the scenes as well as how costs work and why TV isn’t necessarily as expensive as you think, but isn’t as cheap to make as just popping out to an event and capturing it…. so again check out HOY at countrytv.live for the live stream this week, and I will update when we are back.
Keep watching………..V
