Overseer, one of the country’s main farm pollution management tools, has “overarching structural problems” and needs a revamp. The tool has been used by farmers to help manage water quality in some of New Zealand’s most troubled catchments. An independent scientific panel has  reviewed Overseer and  Environment Minister David Parker says the Government will now help develop other tools to more accurately measure pollution running off paddocks, as well as supporting a “next generation” version of Overseer.
