The NZX milk price forecast has jumped 39 cents to $8.04/kgMS, following the strong increase at this week’s Global Dairy auction. The event saw the largest rise in whole milk powder) prices since March and the NZX milk price range is now $7.89-$8.42/kgMS. It is based on the NZ Dollar versus the Greenback exchange rate increasing 1.5cents over the season and a 5% commodity prices increase over the rest of the season. The forecast is $8.04/kgMS with the Kiwi sitting at 72 cents against the US. NZX Dairy Analyst Stuart Davison says he hopes this will give farmers some much needed confidence at this time of year. He says a wider range of buyers from the Middle East, North Asia and Europe have come on board while China has eased up.
