Another $25 Million In Grants To Support Farmers And Growers, Has Been Announced Taking Total Primary Sector Support To $29 Million So Far

Another $25 million in grants to support farmers and growers, has been announced taking total primary sector support to $29 million so far. Grants for growers of $2,000 per hectare up to a maximum of $40,000 to remove silt from trees and vines, support the clean-up, and minimize tree and vine losses. For pastoral and arable farmers there is up to $10,000 to help initial recovery on-farm, such as repairs to stock-water infrastructure for stock and fencing. The Government is also providing more support once further assessments are done. Ag Minister Damien O’Connor says getting a grant will be a simple process and the Ministry for Primary Industries will be working with people on the ground to provide information to farmers and growers and pay out immediately.
