The national Feed Coordination Service to help farmers recovering from Cyclone Gabrielle is back in action. Federated Farmers is operating the service with MPI funding to help farmers source supplementary feed or grazing. Federated Farmers chief executive Terry Copeland says during the widespread drought in 2020 and the Canterbury floods in 2021 the feed service proved to be a huge success matching people with grazing or supplementary feed for sale to those who need it. It is not only aimed at cyclone affected in Northland Gisborne and Hawkes Bay but also available for farmers in Otago and Southland experiencing extremely dry conditions.
