A $23 million boost to the post-cyclone clean-up fund now sees the total primary sector support amount hit $78 million. Nearly 6,000 applications for grants have been received with 3,290 approved, and $37 million paid out to farmers and growers to date. Agriculture Minister Damien O’Connor says helping rural communities get back on their feet as quickly as possible is a priority. Applications for the clean-up grants closed on 20 March, but for those in hard-to-reach areas it was last Monday.
