El Nino has been on the cards for months and the changing weather pattern is about to happen leading to much drier conditions and feed becoming tight. So 7 months on from the Cyclone devastation the push is on to restore as much land to grass as possible. Wairoa Farmer Alan Newton says many are preparing for a dry warm summer but it is still difficult to grow grass when there is so much silt still around.
