The Contentious Livestock Export Industry Is Hopeful Of Getting Back In Business By The End Of 2024

The contentious Livestock Export industry is hopeful of getting back in business by the end of 2024. One National party election promise was the return of the half billion dollar export industry. On Country TV’s Election 23 programme National Leader Christopher Luxon said he would expect new purpose built ships and much higher levels of animal welfare before the industry would get the tick of approval. Livestock Export NZ Chair Mark Willis says they are hopeful they can resurrect the industry that was banned by the Labour Government in April of this year. The industry is hopeful that it can get the solutions sorted to the Ministry and Ministers satisfaction and the livestock export industry could be back in business late next year.
