A feed marketplace says it is well placed with more than 10,000 bales of silage, baleage and hay ready to roll out to farmers ahead of a hot, dry summer. With an El Nino weather pattern predicted there are fears drought could leave farmers short of feed. Feed Finder, is a marketplace for farmers to source feed. Feed Finder co Founder Dave Meaney says there are currently probably somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 bales available. He says the season has come alive again in the last three or four weeks so a lot of our suppliers and contractors are literally flat-out. Dave Meaney says that was about 200 bale transport trucks worth of feed and he is expecting another 5000 bales over the next three or four weeks. He says he is confident suppliers will give farmers an extra leg to stand on. While most of the feed on its marketplace is North Island-based, Meaney says the service will grow in the South Island once logistics are improved.
