The Most Significant Event On The Asia And Pacific Industry Calendar, Is Coming To New Zealand Next Month For The First Time In Its 28-Year History

The most significant event on the Asia and Pacific industry calendar, is coming to New Zealand next month for the first time in its 28-year history. 1500 international seed trade professionals will be in Christchurch for the 28th Asian Seed Congress at the Te Pae Convention Centre. It will be the biggest event the centre has hosted and NZ Grain and Seed Trade Assn general manager Thomas Chin says the congress will be a huge opportunity to showcase the NZ seed industry. The annual event has been hosted in key cities in the Australasian region, including New Delhi, Brisbane, Shanghai, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul and Bangkok. NZ is a world leader in seed production supplying 60% of the world’s radish seed, 50% of white clover seed and 40% of its carrot seed and some 40 other different cropping seed species. Exports to the Asia Pacific region are worth $100 million a year.
