Cyclone Gabrielle has and continues to wreck havoc across the North Island, with strong winds and rain hitting Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, and down the East Coast. The conditions are set to continue until well into Tuesday night. High winds have brought down power lines leaving thousands without electricity, roads have been cut off and there’s widespread flooding.
Anna Thomas checked in with Northland Fed Farmers President Colin Hannah who says the big issue is the power outages, with lots of trees down all over the region.
